A workshop about the imprint in raw earth
in collaboration with Sprar, Cresm and Guglielmino Cooperativa
in the old mental health hospital of Palermo.
As a first engagement with the SPRAR we chose to work with terracruda as a symbol of shared cultural heritage. Elena Campa was invited to lead a moment of experimentation during the workshop “The imprint of raw earth”. We experimented the relief printing of a pattern on raw earth supports. Inspired by the decorations of Sicilian majolica, we started from the design of a pattern to create blocks made by everyday materials, which became the matrices for a relief decoration on raw earth supports.

We have experimented a sharing experience with participants
recognizing, collecting, classifying edible plants.
The research has gone on in the kitchen
where we had invented some collective recipes
with collected plants, sharing the cooking moment and a good dinner.
In the second day we had printed for each person an handmade book
like a diary, a recipes book, an herbarium
where we had handprinted plants like a monotype with a pasta maker.
I’ve done also a fanzine about it.

TRASH è spazzatura.
Letteralmente vuol dire rifiuto, immondizia, robaccia, spazzatura appunto.
Trash non ci suggerisce incantevoli scorci, campi sconfinati o spiagge paradisiache; eppure se ci si concentra, se si strizzano gli occhi per mettere a fuoco e veder meglio, capita spesso che anche in un bel posto, tra vicoli, viuzze, parchi o spiagge, si ritrovino oggetti di ogni tipo che qualcuno ha lasciato lì, volontariamente o no, con superficialità o sbadataggine.

Only with a spray, cardboard and a roll of yellow fabric we had invented a set of modular pieces to create a composition on his own flag to performe in a collective parade from the streets to the roof top of the castle the last night till the morning.
